On this tour, you visit Khajuraho, India's
unique gift to the world. Of the original
85 temples 22 survive today,
enthralling visitors from all over the world. Built in a burst
of inspired creativity a thousand years ago from 950 AD by
the Chandela Rajputs, they are a testament to the craftsman's
artistry and to a vision of life that was full of joy. You
also visit Orchha, a medieval city which has been bypassed
by time and remains untouched by modern development. Here the
Bundela Rajputs have left behind a marvellous legacy in stone:
beautiful palaces, temples and chhatris.
DAY 1 Arrive at Jhansi by Shatabdi Express (1030 hrs.).
Depart for Orchha and sightsee.
Overnight: Betwa Resort/Sheesh Mahal.
DAY 2 Depart for Khajuraho. Sightsee in the evening.
Overnight: Hotel Jhankar/Payal.
DAY 3 Sightsee in the morning. Depart for Jhansi to board
Shatabdi Express (1815 hrs.) for Delhi. |
